Three of northeast Texas’s top colleges are located in Marshall: East Texas Baptist College, Wiley College and Texas State Technical College. East Texas Baptist College. East Texas Baptist College is a four-year liberal arts university. As a religious university, East Texas Baptist College integrates education with Christian principles. Annual student enrollment is approximately 1,350. Students and professors enjoy small class sizes with an average of 17 students to each professor. The East Texas Baptists College Tigers compete at the NCAA Division III level in such sports as baseball, football, men’s and women’s soccer, and men’s and women’s basketball. Wiley College. Founded in 1873, Wiley College is a private, four-year liberal arts college that attracts students specializing in such areas as computer science, hotel and restaurant management, and research. Wiley College is the first historically Black college west of the Mississippi. It was founded on the grounds to provide educational opportunities to newly emancipated citizens. Today, Wiley College offers three types of degrees: Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, and Associate of Arts in Criminal Justice.  [Top]

Texas State Technical College. Texas State Technical College in Marshall is part of a larger academic group with campuses throughout Texas. Texas State Technical College is a public, two-year technical institution that offers associate degrees and certificate programs in information technology; engineering and manufacturing; health and sciences; business, commerce and service; and transportation.
